Rosemarie Auberson

Rosemarie Auberson is a Paris-based art director and illustrator working across mediums and whose personal work combines collage, painting, drawing, and printmaking.

From recently discovering Aubersons work I have become fond of her minimalist style. Auberson has a way of using shapes and colour that truly speaks to me. I begin to wonder what’s so moving about colour and form? There’s energy where shapes meet; where colour resonate; where motion – the flick of a wrist or spray from a paint brush – stay alive on the page. It’s everlasting. It’s profound. Absent of all this, It’s satisfying to look at. Besides this her common use of soft, pastel colours radiates a calming atmosphere. It’s relaxing. It’s peaceful. Yet the use of aged beige creates a feminine tone to her work.
